AUGMENTIN TABLET is used for the treatment of bacterial infections in the respiratory tract, includinginfections of the sinuses, throat, lungs and ears,infections of the urinary bladder, andinfections of the ears.
It is not indicated for the treatment of systemic infections. It is used to reduce the chances of gettingsevere infections caused by susceptible organisms, such asin.
SUMMARY OF:AUGMENTIN 625MG TABLET
AUGMENTIN, USP-AUGMENTIN is a drug that is used totreat a range of infections, including bacterial infections, caused by susceptible organisms. AUGMENTIN is indicated for the treatment of infections caused by susceptible bacteria;offor the treatment of systemic infections. AUGMENTIN tablets are supplied as follows:
The generic name of AUGMENTIN is 625MG.
The recommended dose for adults and children 12 years of age and older with a body weight ofbetween 300 and 600 mg for the treatment of infections of the respiratory tract and tonsils is 2.5 mg/kg every 8 hours and 2.5 mg/kg every 12 hours as follows:
Adults and children over 12 years: a starting dose of 20 mg/kg every 8 hours is recommended.
Store below 25°C.
To prepare AUGMENTIN tablets, the appropriate excipients and fillers such as lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, povidone, sodium starch glycolate, titanium dioxide, iron oxide (E 172), lactose monohydrate and polyethylene glycol 400.
In the event of serious adverse events such as severe hypersensitivity reactions, including Stevens-Johnson syndrome and toxic epidermal necrolysis, or acute respiratory distress syndrome, in particular if co-existing within patients receiving AUGMENTIN, in addition to the symptoms of Stevens-Johnson syndrome, the recommended dose of AUGMENTIN is:
The usual therapeutic dose of AUGMENTIN in adults and children is 500 mg once a day given for 14 days.

Acute bronchitis
It is a viral infection that causes inflammation in the bronchial tubes. It is mostly caused by rhinovirus, adenovirus, influenza A and B, and parainfluenza virus. Symptoms include cough, fatigue, breathing difficulty, fever and chills, and chest discomfort.
Lower respiratory tract infections:
Infection in the lungs especially in the lower airways Common infections are Bronchiolitis and Pneumonia which are caused by Streptococcus pneumonia. Symptoms include runny nose, dry cough, sore throat, low-grade fever, and headache.

Symptoms include runny nose, postnasal drainage, congestion, swelling around your eyes, ear pressure, headache, cough, bad breath, fatigue, and fever.

Tonsillitis:
Inflammation of tonsils is called tonsillitis which causes server throat pain and is caused by Streptococcus pyogenic. Symptoms include inflamed tonsils, sore throat, difficulty in swallowing, bad breath, headache, and inflamed lymph nodes
Ear infection:
It usually occurs when the bacterial or viral infection affects your middle ears. It is caused by colds, sinus infections, smoking, allergies, and inflamed adenosis. Symptoms include pain, hearing loss, pus-like drainage.
Genitourinary tract infection
Skin infection
It is usually caused by bacteria, fungi, viruses, and parasites. Common skin infection includes cellulitis, impetigo. Symptoms include red skin, blisters, swelling, pain, red spots, and tenderness
For best results, 1-2 weeks should be enough to control symptoms and in case of any concerns, a 2-week course is necessary.Contagious dental infection:

AUGMENTIN DUO ORAL SUSPENSION is used to manage bacterial infections such as middle ear and sinus infections, respiratory tract infections, genital tract infections, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections such as dental infections, bone and joint infections, septic abortion (any abortion complicated by uterine infection), and abdominal infections. The symptoms of a bacterial infection may include fever, difficulty breathing, pus formation, and pain.
It contains a combination of medicines called, which belongs to the group of medicines called Antibiotics. It works by preventing the growth of bacteria and helps clear up the infection.
Do not take AUGMENTIN DUO ORAL SUSPENSION if you have a history of hypersensitivity to beta-lactams, including penicillin and cephalosporins, or any other ingredients of this medicine. It is not recommended for use if you have a history of amoxicillin-clavulanate-associated jaundice or hepatic dysfunction.
Before taking AUGMENTIN DUO ORAL SUSPENSION, inform your doctor if you are suffering from hepatic or renal impairment. This medicine should be used with caution in pregnant women and only when necessary.
In breastfeeding women, it should be used with caution. AUGMENTIN DUO ORAL SUSPENSION should be used with caution in children (aged below 12 years) and elderly patients (above 50 years).
The common side effects associated with the use of AUGMENTIN DUO ORAL SUSPENSION are diarrhea, thrush (a fungal infection in the vagina, skin folds, or mouth), nausea, and vomiting. Contact your doctor immediately if any of the symptoms worsen.
As with all medicines, AUGMENTIN DUO ORAL SUSPENSION may cause some side effects, which are typically mild to moderate. Most of these side effects are temporary and may disappear when your body gets used to the medicine. If you notice any side effects that require immediate medical attention, contact your doctor immediately. The most common side effects associated with AUGMENTIN DUO ORAL SUSPENSION are black rectal discomfort,>taste in the vagina, skin irritation, pain in the lower leg, and rash. If any of these side effects persist or become bothersome contact your doctor immediately.The most common side effects of taking AUGMENTIN DUO ORAL SUSPENSION are diarrhea, thrush (fungal infection in the vagina, skin irritation, pain in the lower leg), nausea, and vomiting. Contact your doctor immediately if any of the side effects feel life-threatening.
Tell your doctor right away if you have any of these symptoms:
Other side effects should not be disclosed as any, including side effects requiring medical attention, could be serious. Your doctor will discuss with you an alternative treatment for any side effect.Also, if you notice any signs of allergic reaction (e.g., trouble breathing, swelling of the face or tongue, skin rashes, itching), which may include sore throat, high fever, or joint pain, it is important to get back into the medicine.AUGMENTIN DUO ORAL SUSPENSION may cause dizziness, lightheadedness, weakness, blurred vision, nausea, and vomiting, which are usually mild to moderate. While taking this medicine, you might be advised to avoid activities that require a head or back, such as driving, or drinking plenty of fluids, as this may further increase the risk of dizziness and low blood pressure.
While you are getting treatment, you might also need to take your regularly monitoring blood pressure, respiratory rate (such as a rapid pulse or pulsehing sensation and a high blood pressure reading), and blood sugar (such as a change in your blood weight, blood pressure, or blood level during the third trimester of pregnancy). If you experience these side effects, contact your doctor immediately.
AUGMENTIN DUO ORAL SUSPENSION is also used to manage fungal infections in the skin and throat such as yeast infections andidelines from the Infectious Diseases Society of the USA. AUGMENTIN DUO ORAL SUSPENSION is available in the form of tablets and capsules. AUGMENTIN DUO ORAL SUSPENSION is usually taken twice a day (every 12 hours).It should be used with caution in patients with allergies to any of the components.

Ask your doctor if you have any questions about why Augmentin has been prescribed for you.
**If you are not sure if this is the case, ask your doctor or pharmacist. Your doctor may be able to prescribe Augmentin as a substitute for antibiotics, such as amoxicillin, for you.
**If you are taking other medicines, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before starting Augmentin.
**Before taking Augmentin, tell your doctor if you have liver disease or kidney problems, are pregnant or plan to become pregnant, are breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed.
**If you have any other health problems, such as liver disease, eye problems, or bleeding disorders, please tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly. Your doctor may be able to prescribe Augmentin for you. Some conditions may make you more susceptible to these side effects.
**Do not share Augmentin with others. Sharing it with others may cause harm to them.
**If you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant, discuss with your doctor how Augmentin might be used if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
**Tell your doctor if you have any kidney problems or are taking any other medicines. Augmentin may affect kidney function in certain people. If you need to take Augmentin for a long time, discuss with your doctor how Augmentin might be used.
**If you are not sure whether you should start taking Augmentin, talk to your doctor. They may be able to prescribe Augmentin to help prevent any symptoms of allergic reactions. Do not stop taking Augmentin without first talking to your doctor.
**If you have not told your doctor about any of the above, tell them before taking Augmentin. You may need to stop taking it for a while to reduce the chance of side effects.
**If you are breastfeeding, tell your doctor before taking Augmentin. Augmentin can pass into breast milk and cause harm to your baby. Your doctor may be able to prescribe Augmentin to help prevent any symptoms of breast milk or other breast cancer.
**If you have not told your doctor about any of the above, tell him/her before you take Augmentin.
Sharing it with others may cause harm to others. Your doctor may be able to prescribe Augmentin to you. If you need to take Augmentin for a long time, discuss with your doctor if you have any questions about how Augmentin might be used.
**If you are having surgery, please inform your doctor. They may need to change the dose, and your doctor will need to monitor you closely for side effects.
