IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION

For the treatment of bacterial infections of the respiratory tract, the most common areas being the ear, nose, throat and skin;andfor the treatment of systemic infections,the treatment ofis usually in the form oftablets.

AUGMENTIN TABLET is used for the treatment of bacterial infections in the respiratory tract, includinginfections of the sinuses, throat, lungs and ears,infections of the urinary bladder, andinfections of the ears.

It is not indicated for the treatment of systemic infections. It is used to reduce the chances of gettingsevere infections caused by susceptible organisms, such asin.

DESCRIPTION

AUGMENTIN, USP-AUGMENTIN is a drug that is used totreat a range of infections, including bacterial infections, caused by susceptible organisms. AUGMENTIN is indicated for the treatment of infections caused by susceptible bacteria;offor the treatment of systemic infections. AUGMENTIN tablets are supplied as follows:

The generic name of AUGMENTIN is 625MG.

DIRECTIONS

The recommended dose for adults and children 12 years of age and older with a body weight ofbetween 300 and 600 mg for the treatment of infections of the respiratory tract and tonsils is 2.5 mg/kg every 8 hours and 2.5 mg/kg every 12 hours as follows:

Adults and children over 12 years: a starting dose of 20 mg/kg every 8 hours is recommended.

To prepare AUGMENTIN tablets, the appropriate excipients and fillers such as lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, povidone, sodium starch glycolate, titanium dioxide, iron oxide (E 172), lactose monohydrate and polyethylene glycol 400.

AUGMENTIN DUO ORAL SUSPENSION is used to manage bacterial infections such as middle ear and sinus infections, respiratory tract infections, genital tract infections, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections such as dental infections, bone and joint infections, septic abortion (any abortion complicated by uterine infection), and abdominal infections. The symptoms of a bacterial infection may include fever, difficulty breathing, pus formation, and pain.

It contains a combination of medicines called, which belongs to the group of medicines called Antibiotics. It works by preventing the growth of bacteria and helps clear up the infection.

Do not take AUGMENTIN DUO ORAL SUSPENSION if you have a history of hypersensitivity to beta-lactams, including penicillin and cephalosporins, or any other ingredients of this medicine. It is not recommended for use if you have a history of amoxicillin-clavulanate-associated jaundice or hepatic dysfunction.

Before taking AUGMENTIN DUO ORAL SUSPENSION, inform your doctor if you are suffering from hepatic or renal impairment. This medicine should be used with caution in pregnant women and only when necessary.

While you are getting treatment, you might also need to take your regularly monitoring blood pressure, respiratory rate (such as a rapid pulse or pulsehing sensation and a high blood pressure reading), and blood sugar (such as a change in your blood weight, blood pressure, or blood level during the third trimester of pregnancy).
